Bragging About My Girls
My older daughters, known on this blog as Skippy and Rocky announced last night that they have completed their study of Yeshaya (Isaiah). They are doing one perek (chapter) per day and are planning to work their way through the entire Tanach. (They are about 15 months into a projected 3 1/2 years of study.) I want to publicly wish them strength and success, and tell them how much nachas they give me and their Abba.
The almost final verse of Yeshaya, and the one read last: "And it shall be that on every Rosh Chodesh and every Shabbat all mankind will come to bow to Me, says G-d". May we merit seeing the fulfillment of this vision, speedily and in our time.

Brought a tear to my heart. Mazal Tov.
What a nice post! Mazal tov!
Wonderful.
When my brother learned in Sha'alvim they had a schedule for completing Tanach in one year. The beauty of this schedule is that it would match a perek of Yehoshuah with a Perek of Yeshayahu.
these are the special moments in life
two perakim a day (plus shnayim mikra v'echad targum) and you can finish tanach in a year. These are the moments to treasure. The moments of true yiddishe nachas.
Skippy did a year of "shnayim mikra v'echad targum" the year after her bat mitzva. It was very good for her, and she was really proud when she finished it. They are cheating a bit on the schedule of a perek a day, because they think they can do Tehillim in one month, not 150 days. I'll keep you posted!
